22nd August Race Report
With a small turn out and a great team spirit the
track was de-watered and we got underway using a top 3 lap format, within 10
minutes the track was just getting better and better.
Then after about an hour of racing the rain came again to dampen down the
spirits, so I packed up the timing gear, but as normal by the time I left the
sun was out and it stayed that way for the rest of the day, so I can only
imagine the boys managed to get in quite a few more laps by the end of the day.
Young Wiremu ( Craig's assistant) had his own car to drive for the day (courtesy
of Craig ) but then he forgot to put his transponder in, so he was a little
disappointed when he came to look for his lap times. I felt a bit sorry for him
but he wont forget next time I'm sure.
And the bad news, the predicted weather for next Sunday looks worse than this
week, so lets hope for some change between now and then.
